UNYP places a strong emphasis on the employability of its graduates. The Career Office offers a variety of services to UNYP students and graduates, as well as to companies. We pay high attention to organizing & participating in career & other related activities, assist students with the job applications, advising them on resumes, CVs & cover letters, and provide them with information about job vacancies on a daily basis.
These are organized approximately once a month in cooperation with the Corporate Training Manager. Company visits provide students with the opportunity to meet employers in person, hear first-hand from employers what it is like to work for them and develop professional contacts. Employers from various industries and career fields are available to speak with students about potential career and internship opportunities. Often the visiting companies propose internship and job offers for UNYP students and graduates only.
Workshops - Professional Seminars
The purpose of these workshops and seminars is to support and assist all students in entering the job market, i.e. in exploring and making effective career choices. They are also aimed at helping students with writing or improving their cover letters and their resumes/CVs, as well as consulting with them on how to apply for job offers or internships.
Career Seminars are organized each semester and are specifically designed for students applying for their first job. They help students in preparing for interviews and communications with future employers, including writing effective cover letters and professional CV’s, how to read a job ad or ways to apply for job offers. Additionally students can bring their CV for checking.
Career Day 2013
The annual spring Career Day organized by our Career Office was held at UNYP on Thursday 11 April, 2013 from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. This year Career Day had a big turnout as it was attended by approx. 150 UNYP students and recent graduates who welcomed this great opportunity to explore current career options and talk directly to the representatives of corporations which operate on the Czech market and are potential employers for them. All the participants also had a unique opportunity to make a professional photo for their CVs, a service offered by UNIJOBS, one of this year’s participants.
Representatives of 13 companies, recruitment agencies and organizations participated this year: Accenture, Anheuser-Busch InBev, AIESEC Prague, BlueLink International, Business Leaders Forum, DeVere Group, Exxon Mobil, HAYS Specialist Recruitment, Marcus Evans, Microsoft, SAP, UNIJOBS and Unilever. Once again, we would like to thank all of them for their contribution to a very successful event.
Career Day 2012
Career days are held with the participation of leading companies on the Czech market & recruitment agencies and are organized for students and graduates who are trying to find their first job, advance in their current job or attain an internship (internships abroad included). Students have the opportunity to meet HR & Resource Managers & Coordinators, bring their CV and find out how to apply for a position.
In order to help our students in obtaining a career, we post and update regularly job offers on our Career Office Bulletin Board and communicate positions through email and Facebook to students and graduates, providing them with info about current full-time & part-time positions and internships. Also, we inform them about training programs (e.g. managerial training program) offered by other institutions or companies.
It is extremely important to register at the
Career Office Section in your E-learning System. By registering, you make sure
that you are in touch with everything that is going on at the Career Office.
