Prague, the 6th safest city in the world!

According to the Global Peace Index (GPI) Czech Republic has become the 6th safest country from all over the world (out of the 163 monitored nations). Prague has also been ranked high on the list of 100 safest cities in the world according to the study created by Numbeo. Are you considering signing up for our Bachelor or Master programs? Read on!

While rumors about Czech Republic and its capital may vary in different parts of the world, the numbers say it clearly. The Czech capital is one of the safest places on Earth and therefore an ideal destination for students who are coming every year in great numbers to experience one of the oldest university cities in the Old continent.

The Czech capital may be best known for its historical sites, beer culture and passion for sports but it is also a home to several universities and colleges that make the city lively and thriving. It offers many opportunities for international students to get to know the Czech culture, music, arts, and history. Most of them are organized independently but UNYP students themselves host several meetings and events every month, mostly very tightly related to their study field like the events of the Psychological Society,  UNYP Model United Nations Club or Debating Society or even the student run TEDxUNYP event every year!

But it is not just the GPI that speaks in favor of Prague. The cost of living in the Czech Republic is relatively cheap, especially in comparison with other western countries. A small apartment can be rented for approximately 350 US dollars (315 €) per month and UNYP also offers fully furnished apartments for its student in the most beautiful part of Prague, the majestic Vinohrady.

The appliances do not empty your pocket either. For instance, the public transport ticket is valid for one year and costs only around 140 US dollars (130 €). The Prague’s dense network consists of subways, trams and buses that go throughout the whole city center. The public transport is not limited only to the city; it also reaches suburban areas even during the night.
