John Gole teaches the UNYP MBA course on marketing research. He holds an M.A. from Georgetown University and a B.A. from the University of Maryland, and has obtained an MBA from both London Business School and Columbia Business School.

For more than a decade, he has led IDC's telecoms market research practice in Central and Eastern Europe, and he has also been managing the Middle East and Africa telecoms practice since 2008. He and his team help companies through the full life-cycle of market research, beginning with identification of the objectives, formulation of methodology, implementation, analysis, and strategic decision-making. He applies various methodologies to ensure the objectives are addressed in the most effective and efficient manner, weighing key considerations such as costs, timeliness, accuracy, and relevance. Customers include executive boards, marketing directors, and product managers at companies that include the largest global tech-industry players, large national operators throughout the region, as well as small businesses, with each exhibiting varying research needs. He regularly presents his findings and analysis in industry conferences and symposia, as a keynote speaker, moderator or chairman.
