Michaela Slussareff holds PhD from Information Science MA from Adult Education and BA from Sociology; in 2014 she defended her dissertation thesis at Charles University in Prague on the theme of digital game-based learning. For last decade she focused on research of digital game-based learning and mobile learning. Her actual research interest lies in the area of playful touch-screen applications with educational elements for toddlers. She was a visiting scholar at Parsons New School of Design in New York in 2012 and longitudinally works on international research projects. Nowadays she works as well as an Assistant Professor of New Media Studies at the Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship at Charles University. Beside the academic and teaching experiences she also co-founded the non-profit organization M77 dedicated to projects using new technologies in education and artistic creation. She led development of educational and informational projects for museums and informal learning. Nowadays she leads a non-profit initiative SMARTdudlík that helps parents to thrive in the world of technologies and guides them to choose a good content for their kids. She works in commercial sector as a consultant for development of educational applications for mobile devices.
