And the dream prom prize goes to Gymnázium a SOŠ dr. Václava Šmejkala! UNYP awards them 25.000 CZK!

The big prom contest is now closed and one group of lucky final year students will be counting the hours till their prom. The University of New York in Prague is going to pimp up their big day to the tune of 25.000 CZK! So how did fortune find them?

This year UNYP decided to support high school students on their journey towards the exam that will change their lives forever. To boost their effort and motivation we decided to add a dash of joy, creativity and competitive adrenaline to their lives: in January we launched the big prom photo contest.

Students were charged with one task, and one alone: to take the zaniest snap of themselves and their classmates with the University of New York in Prague logo. No restrictions, no limits. Just have fun and let your fantasy run wild – and the contestants didn’t disappoint!

We received super cool original entries (check them out here), published them on our Facebook page and then let the battle commence! The contestants fought side by side, team against team to receive most likes for their prom picture. Until the very last minute the voting was neck and neck. However, in the end the winner is clear: students from Gymnázium a SOŠ dr. Václava Šmejkala in Ústí nad Labem having reached 12.179 likes that ensured they got their hands big prize. At their prom they will receive from the University of New York in Prague a cheque for 25.000 CZK!

But don’t worry, we know what high school life is about. So we’ll give them the money way in advance so that they can hire their dream DJ, buy unforgettable decorations or find the right gift for their class teacher. At the prom itself, the UNYP cheque will be purely symbolic, a nice little reminder to commemorate their huge victory and awesome team spirit shown in this contest.
