Don’t let finances stop you from studying in Prague

If you’re a student looking to study in Prague, but think you can’t afford the costs of living in a Central European city, we have good news for you! Each year, the University of New York in Prague awards 4.2 million Czech korun in scholarships to worthy students. That’s more than 161,000 Euro and 188,000 USD! If you’re located in the United States, the European Union, or farther away, here’s what you need to know to study in one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.

Study in Prague with scholarships and tuition assistance

We offer a variety of scholarships, from academic achievement awards to outstanding athletic performances. Our Merit Scholarships function as tuition waivers, where students get a certain amount of money deducted from their tuition. Full-time students can receive up to 50 percent off their tuition depending on GPA, and test scores from the SATs, UNYP’s institutional English language test or an equivalent exam, overall academic performance in high school and recommendations from the admissions interview.

For Czech or Slovak students who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend UNYP, we have the Barbara A. Adams Scholarship. This award is in memory of Barbara A. Adams who strived to encourage higher education across all levels of society. Students can receive a full scholarship to UNYP if they submit proof of Financial Need Situation confirmed by a state authority, provide a motivational letter describing why they should receive this award, and meet certain test criteria.

For the student-athletes, we offer Sports Achievement Scholarships. Students can earn a 10 to 20 percent reduction in fees depending on if they represented their country on an international level or have placed in the top three on the national level for an individual or team event.

Once you’re already studying at UNYP, that doesn’t mean you can continue to receive financial benefits. You can still achieve awards, depending on your academic performance. We offer early payment discounts, academic achievement awards, and housing and social stipends.

If you’re interested in our graduate degrees, you could also be eligible for tuition reductions. We award up to 120,000CZK for prospective students who scored 700 on the GMAT or 160 on the GRE. Students who have managerial work experience of 5 or more years, are supporting families, or recommend a friend to study at UNYP can also receive some financial aid.

As you can see, the financial options are endless! At UNYP, we believe everyone should have access to high-quality English-language education, regardless of their income level. For more information on all our scholarships, visit our Scholarships and Financial Aid page. If you have more questions, don’t hesitate to contact our Admissions Department (admissions@unyp.cz) who will have all the answers.
