Great news for UNYP partner: the University of Bolton leaps 36 places in the 2021 Guardian league tables

UNYP is the Czech Republic’s largest and most prominent English-speaking higher education institution. Over 800 students from over 60 countries and an international group of instructors form a diverse educational community. Our faculty, many of whom are native English speakers, currently number 125 professors and lecturers from over 25 countries. UNYP is proud of its achievements and its ability to combine the Czech Republic’s rich academic heritage with the best American and European higher education traditions. In 2009, UNYP formed a collaboration with the UK’s University of Bolton, which provides a wide variety of graduate and postgraduate programs, and is world-famous for its comprehensive research center. UNYP collaborates with the University of Bolton to provide a Ph.D. by publication in a wide range of academic fields and some of our most popular graduate programs, the M.Sc. in International Management and MA in Strategic Communication.

UNYP is proud of its partner university’s achievements.

This year, we are proud that the University of Bolton has been named as one of the Top 50 best UK universities in the 2021 Guardian newspaper league tables. Compared to last year, the University moved up 36 places, landing 50th out of 121 higher education establishments on the Guardian list.

“The fact that the University of Bolton has leaped 36 places from last year’s position of 86th is admirable,” says Mr. Sotiris Foutsis, General Manager of the University of New York in Prague. “We are impressed and delighted by our partner university’s accomplishment. The successful collaboration of the two institutions continues as we enter the new decade, and the success of our students remains a joint mission of our educational establishments. Bolton’s significant achievement proves that good leadership and a strong academic community can endure any crisis and emerge stronger from this experience.”

The Guardian league tables rate universities by eight separate scores out of 100, including students’ opinions about their teaching, reviews, and the course itself in the annual National Student Survey (NSS). The University of a Bolton scored 83.6% for overall student satisfaction with their courses, 88.1% for the quality of teaching on the course as rated by first-year students, and 78.9% rating for the quality of feedback and assessment by final-year students.

Professor George E Holmes DL, President, and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bolton, comments: “I am proud of this accomplishment, which wouldn’t be possible without the coordinated actions and hard work of all our faculty and staff. It is immensely rewarding to make such a big jump in the Guardian league tables, as this comes in the midst of perhaps the most difficult year faced by the University of Bolton, and the Higher Education sector as a whole, in the past hundred years. The University of Bolton is committed to the pursuit of excellence and welcomes applicants from all over the world who have the same high standards.”

Bolton University traces its origins back to the establishment of the Bolton Mechanics’ Institute in 1825, one of the first institutes of its kind to be founded in the UK. The primary aim of this University throughout its existence and in its numerous incarnations has been to provide access to quality education for those who seek to improve their prospects. In 2020, the University of Bolton continues to deliver programs with a strong, professionally-focused orientation. It is still growing and consolidating its position for its high-quality research and study programs nationally and internationally.

What our relationship with the University of Bolton means for students:

UNYP is proud to work with the University of Bolton to deliver high-quality International Management and Strategic Communication Master’s degrees. These degrees are designed to give graduate students an edge in an increasingly competitive global job market by equipping them with the theoretical foundations for international careers in business and media industries. The University of Bolton’s strong industry ties allow it to deliver a large number of professionally certified courses through partnerships. The qualification is a British graduate degree, which we offer at the University of New York in Prague. We also look forward to launching two more programs in collaboration with the University of Bolton, next year, M.Sc. in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and M.Sc. in Data Analytics and Technologies.
