Letter from UNYP General Manager to our community

Dear UNYP community,

As of today, the Prague Center for Disease Control and Prevention has published decree no. 12/2020, making an official announcement about the compulsory transition of all of Prague’s higher education institutions to distance learning. With sincere regret, we must inform you that from Monday, September 21st, all UNYP classes will be held online until further notice of the relaxation of government restrictions.

We would like to kindly ask students and faculty to regularly check their UNYP email and E-learning system for updates from the Rector’s Office and professors.

Over the summer, our academic community has been rethinking, restructuring, and adapting innovative best practices for teaching in times of uncertainty, and to ensure that our students continue to learn effectively. The management of the University of New York in Prague has invested in advanced technologies and equipment for hybrid and online learning, as well as the new Perlego digital library, to further support the continuity of the high-quality education delivered to our students, no matter the circumstances.

We feel, as many do, disappointment about the need to postpone in-person learning and that this is happening so early in the semester. However, we have been prepared for this scenario, as we care deeply about your safety and your education.

We have faith in our students, faculty, and staff to come together with compassion, care, and consideration for the common good. We assure you that from our side, we will continue to our very best to deliver the same quality of education virtually until we can bring you safely back to the UNYP campus.

In these times of uncertainty, please accept our appreciation in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

UNYP General Manager, Sotiris Foutsis
