UNYP alums featured in Forbes 30 under 30

Every year, Forbes magazine dedicates a cover story to thirty young professionals who are doing amazing things in the Czech Republic, known as its 30 under 30 issue. We’re excited to see two of our alumni, Radek Musil and Petr Rieger, featured in the 2018 spread.

Radek Musil studied Business Administration and graduated from University of New York in Prague in 2013. Since his graduation, Radek has led a successful career in investment banking, the same profession as his father, he told Forbes. After working at several firms, Radek landed a job at Roklen Financial Group as an analyst. Now, he is a partner at Roklen and CEO of Fundlift, an innovative crowdsourcing platform unlike any other in the Czech Republic.

Petr Rieger was also featured. The Czech investment manager also studied Business Administration at UNYP/SUNY Empire State College and received his degree in 2014. Only four years later, his CV includes Rothschild, Hartenberg Capital and one of the three largest investment funds in the world, American company Carlyle Group, which manages more than $170 billion, according to Forbes. Perhaps you’ve heard of Beats headphones, or Dr. Pepper and Seven Up? That’s managed by Carlyle Group. Rieger and his team manage a 650 million fund that invests in tech companies across Europe, the article reported. Now, he is focusing on Central and Eastern Europe, according to Forbes.

For the past 20 years, UNYP has offered the best in private university education for English speakers in Prague. We offer bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in subjects including Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Entrepreneurship and more.

Radek recently spoke with us about his career since graduation, and his advice for aspiring business executives who are studying at UNYP now was this: "Try to get as much as you can from each of the lectures and don´t be afraid to ask questions. Talk to various alumni about what they do in order to get an opinion on where would you like to end up once you graduate. Once you realize which field is yours, try to get an internship as soon as possible."
