UNYP attains new American Accreditation

Everyone appreciates recognition of a job well done. The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) is a recent recipient of substantial recognition for two of its business programs, and it is definitely something noteworthy for both those directly involved, and the university as a whole.  UNYP has been offering quality business education in English for many years, and in a recent public announcement we shared this recognition with everyone.

Both our Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and European Bachelor’s in Business Administration programs have earned independent American accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

The IACBE accreditation provides a stamp of approval certifying the quality of UNYP’s business programs.

UNYP now has the first and only IACBE accredited programs in the Czech Republic.  This American accreditation of UNYP’s business programs is a powerful complement to the established British Accreditation Council (BAC) accreditation of the university.  It demonstrates success in achieving our stated goal of preparing students to succeed in the international world of business by providing them with a solid foundation in business management and an appreciation of the cultural considerations of international leadership.

The International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) was founded in 1997 in response to the expressed needs of presidents, chief academic officers, and business deans and chairs who wanted an accreditation process that was mission-driven and outcomes-based. The IACBE is nationally-recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and is the leader in mission-driven and outcomes-based programmatic accreditation in business education for student-centered colleges and universities throughout the world.

The IACBE’s mission is to promote and recognize excellence in business education in institutions of higher education worldwide, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, through specialized accreditation of business programs. The IACBE has hundreds of member institutions and campuses and well over 900 accredited programs in the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Central America, and South America.

The IACBE’s World Headquarters are located in Lenexa, Kansas, USA, with a representative office in Paris, France.

We at UNYP would like to thank the IACBE for its thorough, detailed and professional accreditation process, carried out both through significant examination of our programs with a rigorous on-site inspection, and for the assistance their representatives provided via this process to our institution.  A lot of value was gained through this experience.  The IACBE representatives had a lot of constructive comments for our team, and it was truly a joy to work with them and see that their goals were very much in line with ours.  The themes of continual improvement and quality assurance were pervasive in every conversation.

Being relatively new to UNYP, I can’t take any credit for this impressive achievement, but I certainly want to congratulate all of my colleagues on their efforts, and also all stakeholders of the University of New York in Prague for their part in helping us to achieve this milestone.  I am also quite proud to join this team that will continue to move forward in bold new directions in business education with innovative and dynamic approaches to continually changing market conditions.  With this gratifying confirmation of past efforts, I know that we are all excited to continue our progress toward ambitious new goals in coming years.
