The University of New York located in Prague for several years and its graduate students who have no problems finding very good jobs.

Bloom in the East

The University of New York in Prague constitutes one of the best private schools in the Czech Republic says Bernard Bauer (Director of the German-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry). In this country, beside the University of New York, which offers MBA in international business field there are also other schools that provide business knowledge in this field. Private universities in Prague are among the most international in the region. Students come from 60 countries, only a quarter of them are derived from the Czech Republic and 10% from Slovakia. Lessons are conducted in English and most of the teachers do not speak the Czech language.

We are the largest university in this state, which uses English language, Andreas Antonopoulos, Rector of the University, pronounces with an obvious pride. 800 Students study in this university. In comparison with other schools in the west, the fees of the University are around 13,000 euros less per year.

University of New York in Prague was established by Mr. Elias Foutsis in collaboration with the State University of New York / Empire State College. This University is managed by his son, Sotiris Foutsis.  Two other buildings were purchased close to the existing University building in order facilitate dorm rooms for the students because our philosophy is to offer a complete service to them, Foutsis says. In one of these buildings there is also the student canteen.

Bachelor and Masters in Psychology are recognized by the Czech Ministry of Education. MBA of this University is accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education. University of New York in Prague consists of renowned academic and industry experts with a diverse international experience. This guarantees a connection with practice and basic theories of management discipline says Danica Purg, President of CEEMAN School and founder of the BLED School of Management. The development of classes in the English language is undoubtedly a great advantage for students.

Many Job Position Openings

Most of the participants in the MBA program are employed; this is why they study longer than the 19 month period, which is the official time of completion for the Master Program. Learning takes place during two weekends throughout the month in order to be accessible by the students who do not live in Prague. Students come from Germany, Austria and Netherlands. They are employed by big international companies such as DHL, T Mobile, Vodafone, KPMG, COCA COLA. German students work for SAP, Globus, Hewlett Packard. In Prague there exists a great competition, but on the other hand there is high employment rates which pushes firms to require managers who also speak foreign languages, says the chairman of the Bauer Chamber of Commerce.

An important fact is that powerful firms send their employees to study for MBA’s at the university. Such a case is the company Skoda, based in Prague. The location of the university (Prague) plays an important role says Mr. Antonopoulos, the Rector of this university. Prague is located in the middle of Europe and its security in the capital is a very important element for our students.

New Majors

The Administrator, Mr. Foutsis states that they look forward to offering new majors such as Economic Informatics, because they must respond to market needs in regards to the economy in the Czech Republic.
