UNYP gives back to children with disabilities

A great education isn’t just about having good teachers. It also means having access to technology that will elevate your learning experience from a very young age. At University of New York in Prague, we’re dedicated to giving back to our educational community. That’s why this month we donated 25 computer monitors to local schools that serve children with disabilities.

Our IT staff met with Alice Běhounková, the principal of private elementary school Integral, to deliver 10 computer monitors that will be used in their classrooms. The school was founded in 1991, and serves students with developmental and learning disorders. Integral specializes in providing a learning environment best suited for their students’ needs. This means smaller classrooms in order to ensure that each student gets enough attention as well as therapy services and activities like theatre, dancing, sports activities, robotics, piano, and art.

Integral was not the only school we visited. We also donated 15 computer monitors to ZŠ Karla Herforta, an elementary school that serves handicapped children from ages 6 to 25. “Your monitors will contribute to an improvement in the quality of our education and replace all our old pieces,” said Michal Sebera, the school’s director.
