UNYP Signs MOU on Students Exchange with The American University in Iraq - Baghdad

The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) signed a memorandum of understanding with the American University of Iraq – Baghdad (AUIB), on the students exchange program, in addition to double degree agreements, students transfer, faculty exchange, and joint research. This agreement paves the way for UNYP students to participate in joint classes, research projects, study abroad programs.

Sotiris Foutsis, the General Manager of UNYP expressed, “We are very happy to join forces with AUIB to provide our students with a safe opportunity to explore the rapidly growing Middle Eastern region. We believe that the educational and cultural exchange will be beneficial for students from both institutions. UNYP cannot wait to welcome visiting students from AUIB in the future.”

AUIB President Dr. Michael Mulnix added, “We continue to establish relationships with universities around the world, we are eager to have a partnership with UNYP and we are especially pleased with the possibilities this agreement can offer our students in the coming years.”

The American University in Iraq - Baghdad is a newly established institution founded in January 2021, as a, “...dream of influential individuals in Iraq and United States business, industry and government who want to see a world-class institution of higher learning established in Baghdad. Reminiscent of the days when the city was an educational and cultural mecca and the flourishing capital of the Muslim world. AUIB follows in the tradition of three historical institutions in Baghdad: the House of Wisdom, al-Nizamiyah Madrasah, often described as “the largest university in the medieval world,” and al-Mustansiriyah Madrasah.”
