On Tuesday 4 June students in the ESC summer intensive course on Behavioural Economics visited the economics laboratory at the Prague School of Economics (Vysoka Skola Ekonomicka). The laboratory was built in order to facilitate the use of experiments in economic research. The students were introduced to a game in which they played the roles of energy providers in the competitive market. The game, devised by economist Silvester Van Koten, has been used to investigate behavioural traits of players in different market structures – and will form the data for an upcoming publication which will be of considerable use to the European Commission and other policy making bodies.
