UNYP successfully obtained a US Professional Accreditation

The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) and our team of educators and professionals are proud to announce that our life-long learning Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) and the European Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) programs have earned independent American accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE, www.iacbe.org).

IACBE Accreditation Announcement

UNYP Graduation Ceremony of 2013, IACBE from University of New York in Prague on Vimeo.

The IACBE accreditation provides a stamp of approval confirming the quality of UNYP’s business programs.  UNYP is the first and only Czech Higher Education Institution obtaining a US professional accreditation. It is also the first IACBE accredited Institution in the CEE.  This American accreditation of UNYP’s business programs is a powerful complement to the existing British Accreditation Council  accreditation of the Institution (BAC, www.the-bac.org ). It demonstrates our success in achieving our stated goal of preparing students to succeed in the international world of business. We provide students with a solid foundation in business management and an appreciation of the cultural considerations of international leadership. These international accreditations add to the key accreditation from the Czech Ministry of Education which UNYP earned in 2001 which has been continually renewed (MŠMT, www.msmt.cz).

UNYP is really proud to offer “triple” (Czech, US, UK) accreditation for all its undergraduate and graduate business programs!

About the IACBE

The International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) was founded in 1997 in response to the expressed needs of presidents, chief academic officers, and business deans and chairs who wanted an accreditation process that was mission-driven and outcomes-based. The IACBE is nationally-recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and is the leader in mission-driven and outcomes-based programmatic accreditation in business education for student-centered colleges and universities throughout the world.

The IACBE’s mission is to promote and recognize excellence in business education in institutions of higher education worldwide, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, through specialized accreditation of business programs. The IACBE has hundreds of member institutions and campuses and well over 900 accredited programs in the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Central America, and South America. The IACBE’s World Headquarters are located in Lenexa, Kansas, USA, with a representative office in Paris, France.

The IACBE:

• recognizes high-quality business education by granting specialized programmatic accreditation;

• develops and promulgates sound educational principles and practices for the accreditation of business programs;

• maintains regional and international centers to represent the Assembly and its members worldwide;

• collects and disseminates information about business education throughout the world;

• engages in activities that enhance and promote the study of collegiate business education and that apprise the public of its value, scope, and character.

We at UNYP would like to thank the IACBE for its thorough, detailed, and professional accreditation process, carried out both through significant examination of our programs with a rigorous on-site inspection, and for the assistance their representatives provided via this process to our institution.  We would also like to congratulate all stakeholders of the University of New York in Prague for their part in helping us to achieve this milestone, including our current students whose future diplomas will now forever carry this brand of excellence.  With this gratifying confirmation of our past efforts, we are excited to continue our progress toward ambitious new goals in coming years.
