Michaela Pixová is a human geographer engaging in research, writing, teaching and activism. She teaches Environmental Crisis and Global Sustainability at UNYP, and Urban Change and Grassroots Movements at Charles University, Prague. Her professional and personal interests span across a wide range of socio-spatial themes, particularly those centring around urban space, urban life, and the impacts of human activities on the environment. She has conducted research projects focused on urban social movements and citizen participation; alternative spaces and alternative cultures in cities; and housing, social segregation and the “right to the city” concept. She is currently employed as the coordinator of the Czech Climate Coalition.
