Inbound Erasmus+ Student Information

Incoming Erasmus+ Students — Welcome!

Thanks for your interest in studying at the University of New York in Prague through Erasmus+!

Before you apply, please review our Erasmus Policy Statement and our Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (2021–2027) on the Erasmus+ homepage.

To study at UNYP as an Erasmus+ student, your home university must have an active Erasmus+ agreement with us. You can check the list of our Erasmus+ partner universities below. If your university is not currently a partner, you may still be able to study at UNYP as a fee-paying Study Abroad student.

Eligibility

Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 with at least 1 completed semester of college

1. Nomination

Your home coordinator must officially nominate you by email to the Erasmus+ coordinator at cge@unyp.cz (without a nomination, you cannot access the online application).

2. Online Application

Click on the web link that you will receive in the information e-mail and fill in the application.

Application Requirements
- A UNYP Online Application
- A motivation letter (written in English – max. 400 words)
- High school diploma or provide the name of the high school
- Official University Transcript
- Letter from your home University confirming English language ability (waived for native speakers of English). If students are enrolled in a non-English-speaking degree program with a partner university, they are required to submit an English language proficiency test under Admission Requirements for UNYP Undergraduate Students.
- Copy of ID or passport (plus digital passport photo)
  - The passport must be valid for at least the duration of the program +3 months.

After being accepted, you will have to send the additional documents listed below by email to the UNYP Erasmus+ coordinator, cge@unyp.cz

Learning agreement (LA)
Your photo in a passport size

We DO NOT require originals sent by post.

Dates: January 26 — May 15, 2026
Deadline: October 17, 2025

After being accepted to study at UNYP, you will need to follow these steps:

BEFORE ARRIVAL

Review and sign the Erasmus contract
- Once you receive the email notification, sign the contract via Signi
Select 6-8 courses from the UNYP course offerings (see section courses below). Complete the Course selection form. Course selection will be finalized witha maximum of 5 courses (30 ECTS credits). Have your home university advisor approve these courses and submit the course selection sheet.
Submit the Learning Agreement form to UNYP (cge@unyp.cz)
- Once the registration from the UNYP Registrar is complete, you can fill out the Learning Agreement. We also accept the online version.
Provide UNYP with a passport-style photo of yourself (cge@unyp.cz)
- We will use this photo for your UNYP Student ID Card. The photo must be taken according to passport-photo requirements (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/photos.html)

DURING STAY

Arrive in Prague on Arrival Day
Check in to orientation at UNYP for Day 1 of orientation week
Upon arrival, complete the Arrival Confirmation at the UNYP Center for Global Engagement
Get a signature from the UNYP Center for Global Engagement on the Learning Agreement during the semester
After your stay, you must obtain a confirmation of Erasmus Study Period from UNYP Center for Global Engagement

AFTER DEPARTURE

UNYP will send the Transcript of Records to your home University
Fill out the EU Survey

UNYP can offer Erasmus+ students its Housing & Services program, in which UNYP guarantees a housing placement with other visiting students. More details on the UNYP Housing & Services program are available in the «Costs» section.

If you wish to secure your own housing, please see some options listed below:

Several accommodations in Prague could be options for Erasmus+ students. As these are suitable housing options for many newcomers to Prague, and availability may be limited, it is important to book a room early.

PLEASE NOTE: The student will be able to pick the type of room, but building management places the student into an available apartment. These accommodations are not student dormitories.

BELGICKA APARTMENTS

4-minute walk from UNYP

Two completely renovated residential buildings, ideally located, just 100m from UNYP. Students can choose one of 73 single or double rooms. The area, size, and number of single- and double-bedroom (2 beds) apartments vary. The capacity of both buildings is 25 apartments, totaling 120 beds.

DC REZIDENCE

30-35 minutes from UNYP by public transport (metro line C and bus connection)

Accommodation in single rooms in a renovated building, located in a quiet environment, and providing students with all the services necessary for study and relaxation. DC Rezidence is part of a sports, relaxation, and gastronomic complex, which provides a wide range of services (restaurant, sports academy, wellness, laundry, etc.).

STUDENT HOUSE BOTIC (SHB)

15 minutes from UNYP by public transport (with tram connections)

Located in a residential area of Prague 10, SHB is close to public transportation and close to the city center and I. P. Pavlova area. It is a renovated residential building designed to accommodate 160 students in 92 rooms total: single, twin, and double. Double rooms are available for disabled persons.

The price includes all utilities (heating, water, electricity), 24/7 reception, high-speed internet, fridge in each room, and cleaning of common areas. Students are responsible for their room cleaning, with the possibility to arrange an extra-charged room cleaning service.

Available in the building: a kitchen for every 12 rooms, study rooms, a storage room (bicycles, skis, etc.), a fitness room, a student club, laundry, and a mailbox.

ZEITRAUM Student Housing

This provider offers dormitory-style student housing that is easily accessible by public transportation. The housing is located in a nice residential area of the city.
