Bachelor of Business Administration – Concentration in Data Analytics

Focusing your business studies on data analytics is the best way to understand big data and its future

Data Analytics is the science of examining data sets to identify trends and draw conclusions, and interpret this data to make predictions, which companies can apply in order to make better-informed business decisions and boost their performance. There are four key types of Data Analytics: descriptive analytics (what happened), diagnostic analytics (why it happened), predictive analytics (what will happen in the future), and prescriptive analytics (what should we do about it). A Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Data Analytics is a particularly good choice for students with quantitative and analytical skills who plan to specialize in data and the key business decisions that can be derived from it.

Big data is here to stay, and graduates who are qualified in Data Analytics will find themselves ahead of the curve.

Studying Data Analytics at the University of New York in Prague will prime students for a career path in data science, one of the fastest-growing fields. Big data is here to stay, and graduates who are qualified in Data Analytics will find themselves ahead of the curve, with transferable skills such as communication, problem-solving and decision-making. There are two paths for students studying a Data Analytics concentration within a Business Administration degree. The first path would be for students that want to enroll in the 3-year European program leading to a bachelor’s degree (bakalář, Bc.) awarded by UNYP and accredited by the American International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), and the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education (NAÚ). Alternatively, students that want an American degree as well as the UNYP degree must be enrolled in the State University of New York, Empire State University and UNYP Dual degree program. In either path, to obtain the concentration in Data Analytics, students must obtain 12 credits (24 ECTS credits) in courses from the list of the concentration subjects; select a topic for the bachelor thesis in a topic related to the concentration focus; and succeed in the Czech State Exam and earning the UNYP bachelor’s degree. The name of the concentration will appear in the UNYP Diploma Supplement along with the specification of the Major.
