Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 with at least 1 completed semester of college. 

If GPA lower, contact your home university coordinator for further details.

  • A motivation letter (written in English – max. 400 words) 
  • Provide name of high school and your graduation year. 
  • Official University Transcript 
  • Copy of ID or passport (plus digital passport photo) 
    • Passport must be valid for at least the duration of program +3 months. 

Included in the Study Abroad Semester Program fee:

  • Tuition
    • 12-15 credits for Fall and Spring semester programs (A minimum of 12 credits must be maintained as a student visa requirement)
  • Housing
  • Health Insurance
  • Visa Support
  • Airport Pick Up and Transport to Housing
  • On-Site Orientation
  • Prague Public Transportation Pass
  • Student Benefits Program
  • The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) Card
  • Mailing of your Final Transcripts

After being Accepted to Study abroad Semester programs at UNYP you will need to follow with these steps:

  1. Review and sign Study Abroad contract.
    • Once you receive email notification sign via Signi.
  2. Complete the Study Abroad program deposit ($500)
    • Attach your UNYP Student ID number to your deposit payment.  Your UNYP Student ID number can be found on your Study Abroad Contract in the top right corner of the first page.
  3. Submit the Course Selection form to UNYP.
    • Check the course section below for more information.
  4. Provide UNYP with your preferred mailing address (cge@unyp.cz).
    • UNYP must ship to you some documents for your visa application.  The address you provide to UNYP as your preferred mailing address is where we will send your visa documents.
  5. Provide UNYP with a passport-style photo of yourself (cge@unyp.cz).
  6. Prepare the necessary visa documents (see your Czech Embassy’s website for full details on properly submitting visa documents). IF YOU ARE NON-EU CITIZEN.
    • Application Form Passport – style photo (3.5cm x 4.5cm)
    • Passport
    • Proof of Funds
    • Criminal History Form
      • US citizens can submit affidavit instead.
    • Visa application fee Postage fees (for US citizens only)
    • Proof of Acceptance (UNYP sends this to you by mail)
    • Proof of Accommodation (UNYP sends this to you by mail)
    • Proof of Insurance (UNYP sends this to you by mail)
    • Consent of parent/legal guardian in case applicant is underage
  7. Complete 25% Program Payment (one month before the program).
  8. UNYP will provide you with UNYP Login Credentials for: Email, E-Learning, E-GNOMON.
  9. Join UNYP Visiting Students Facebook Group and WhatsApp chat.
  10. Send your arrival flight details to UNYP (cge@unyp.cz).
  11. Inform UNYP once visa approved – if applicable (cge@unyp.cz).
  12. Complete 75% Program Payment (one week before the program).
  13. Arrive in Prague on Arrival Day.
  14. Check in to orientation at UNYP for Day 1 of orientation week.
  • Students are required to take at least 4 and maximum of 5 courses, 12 to 15 US Credits.
  • Once you submit your Study abroad application, UNYP Student mobility academic manager will contact you and send you a link to our current course list and guide you throughout the course registration process.

The UNYP study abroad program includes accommodation at one of the three following Student residences. Students will be placed into housing by UNYP, placements will be made according to availability of rooms. All these residences are in a close proximity of UNYP. The rooms are well equipped and have a free Wi-Fi. They also provide students with great additional facilities.

Belgicka Apartments 

Belgicka Apartments is located only 100 meters from UNYP’s main campus. It offers double rooms in renovated student apartments. Each apartment has its own bathroom and kitchen.

Student House Botic

Student House Botic is located only 8 minutes away from UNYP by tram. It offers double rooms with bathroom. Kitchen is located on every floor, but each room has its own fridge and kettle.

ZEITRAUM Student Housing

This provider offers dormitory style student housing that is easily accessible by public transportation. The housing is located in nice residential area of the city.

UNYP Education Abroad Scholarship

The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) is committed to providing students from across the world with a student-centered, globally-minded education.  Since its founding in 1998, UNYP has sought not only to deliver on this commitment but also to ensure increased financial access to such an education.   Each year UNYP awards over 4 million Czech Koruna in financial aid and scholarships to its degree seeking students. 

The UNYP Study Abroad program now aims to continue this tradition by offering the UNYP Education Abroad Scholarship to students within the UNYP Study Abroad program.  The scholarship fund is distributed in awards of $300 USD each.  A maximum of one scholarship award per student is permitted.

  The UNYP Education Abroad Scholarship is open to all UNYP Study Abroad students who meet the eligibility requirements.  In order to be considered for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Complete their UNYP Study Abroad application and submit all required items by the scholarship application deadline.
    • Spring 2024 Semester October 142023
    • Fall 2024 April 19, 2024
    • Spring 2025 October 18, 2024
  • Meet all Study Abroad program admissions requirements.
  • Demonstrate current enrollment in university studies at time of application.
  • Maintain full-time enrollment in a Fall or Spring UNYP Study Abroad program, participate in UNYP housing, and complete the entirety of the study abroad program.
  • Maintain compliance with UNYP academic and conduct policies for the length of study abroad program.

In order to apply, students must complete the following steps:

Following the scholarship application deadline the UNYP Scholarship Committee will review all applications.  Those who are awarded the scholarship will be contacted directly by a representative of the UNYP Scholarship committee within 2 weeks of the application deadline and informed of their scholarship award.
