Building Futures On and Off the Field: UNYP & Czech Floorball

Czech Floorball and the University of New York in Prague (UNYP) are launching a new partnership for the 2025/2026 season. The partnership will connect sport and education, with a shared goal: helping young athletes and students build strong futures.

“UNYP is an ideal partner for us. It has a strong academic foundation, an international reach, and an understanding of younger generations. Together, we want to create projects that benefit not only floorball but also the wider community around it. I’m glad we’ve built a partnership that goes beyond sport,” says Roman Urbář, Director of Marketing and Communications at Czech Floorball.

“At UNYP, we see sport and education as two forces that help young athletes grow, build confidence, and prepare for long-term success. This partnership with Český florbal will motivate players to excel on the court while also valuing education as a key part of their future,” adds Sotiris Foutsis, General Manager of UNYP.

The partnership will include interactive activities on Český florbal’s social media. A key project will be Goal/Action of the Month, focused on youth competitions for both boys and girls. Each month, fans will vote for the best plays, helping spotlight young talent and their clubs. Český florbal will share clips from its streaming platform (link in comments). Clubs and individuals can also tag their own highlights for a chance to be featured and win prizes.

The partnership will also support the Women’s Power initiative, launched as part of the campaign for this December’s Women’s World Championship in the Czech Republic. Women’s Power highlights equal opportunities, inspiring stories, and education in women’s sports. As part of the UNYP partnership, a seminar will bring together players, experts, and other voices from both sport and academia.
