For many years, Kazakhstan has played an important role in UNYP’s academic community. Kazakh students have actively enriched the university’s diverse and multicultural environment in Prague. With the launch of the Almaty office, UNYP strengthens this relationship and expands its local presence. Students and families in the region now have direct access to information, guidance, and personalized support.
The Almaty office will serve as a regional hub for outreach, collaboration, and student engagement. From this location, UNYP will actively promote its academic programs, scholarships, and international partnerships. In addition, the office will provide tailored guidance to prospective students exploring study opportunities in Prague.
Mr. Timur Akhmetzhanov, Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Czech Republic, met with Eva Anderová, Vice President for Public Affairs, during the visit.
This initiative forms part of UNYP’s broader internationalization strategy, which emphasizes local presence, cultural understanding, and a student-centered approach. UNYP aims to support students not only in Kazakhstan but also across neighboring countries, including Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia.

Ms. Aida Sultanali, appointed as UNYP’s Recruitment and Engagement Officer in Kazakhstan, will lead the Almaty office. She brings extensive experience in international education and strong regional expertise. As part of her onboarding process, she recently visited Prague to meet with UNYP leadership and academic teams.
During her visit, UNYP welcomed Mr. Timur Akhmetzhanov for discussions. They focused on strengthening educational cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic.
Mr. Akhmetzhanov also met with Prof. PaedDr. Radka Wildová, CSc., Vice Rector of UNYP.
UNYP was represented by Eva Anderová (Vice President for Public Affairs), Dr. Harrison James (Vice Rector), George Mesazos (Chief Operating Officer), and Prof. PaedDr. Radka Wildová, CSc. Members of UNYP’s Kazakh student community also attended the meeting.

“UNYP has always been an international institution, welcoming students from more than 80 countries,” said Eva Anderová, Vice President for Public Affairs. “The opening of our office in Almaty reflects our commitment to supporting students and families locally, offering trusted guidance and a personal connection from the very beginning of their academic journey.”
The Representative Office in Almaty strengthens UNYP’s presence in the region and enables direct engagement with prospective students and families.
The office serves as a dedicated point of contact for academic programs, admissions guidance, scholarships, and student life information in Prague. Through this initiative, UNYP continues to strengthen its role as a bridge between cultures and educational systems. As a result, it is expanding access to American and European higher education in the heart of Europe.
