UNYP Psychology Students Advance to the Next Round of SVOČ

The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) is proud to announce that its psychology students have advanced to the next stage of the SVOČ (Students’ Scientific and Professional Activities) competition. This achievement demonstrates academic excellence and undergraduate-level research capability.

Outstanding Student Research in Psychology

UNYP hosted the university-level SVOČ competition on campus. At this event, ten undergraduate psychology students presented original research projects across diverse areas of psychological science. The projects demonstrated strong methodological design, analytical rigor, and clear academic communication. These are key competencies emphasized in UNYP’s psychology programs.

The quality of the research presented highlights UNYP’s commitment to providing an American-style higher education in Europe. There is a focus on critical thinking, research literacy, and applied psychological practice.

Expert Evaluation and Academic Standards

A panel of faculty members and psychology professionals evaluated each presentation based on research design, theoretical grounding, data interpretation, and presentation quality. According to the evaluators, the overall level of submissions was exceptionally high. As a result, the final selection was highly competitive.

Such academic forums provide students with real-world experience in presenting scholarly research. This is a crucial skill for future careers in psychology, research, and graduate studies.

Representing UNYP at International Student Psychology Days

The two highest-scoring research projects will now represent UNYP at the International Student Psychology Days in Bratislava (April 24–25, 2025). This respected international academic event brings together psychology students from across Central Europe. They present research findings, exchange ideas, and engage in professional dialogue.

Participation at this level reinforces UNYP’s position as a leading English-language university in Prague. The university offers rigorous psychology education with international exposure.

A Supportive Academic Community

Beyond the competition itself, the event reflected the collaborative and student-centered environment at UNYP. Participants supported one another throughout the day, fostering a professional yet encouraging academic atmosphere.
