Is the degree recognized in the United States? toggle

Yes. UNYP's American bachelor's degree is awarded by SUNY Empire State University, a fully accredited institution within the State University of New York (SUNY) system. The degree is recognized in the United States and internationally.

How much FAFSA can I use? toggle

Eligible students may apply U.S. federal financial aid toward up to 32 credits in the SUNY Empire State (American bachelor's) program offered at UNYP.

Is UNYP only a study abroad program? toggle

No. UNYP is a full-time, degree-granting university. While some students join for a semester or year abroad, most enroll in complete bachelor's or master's degree programs.

Do I need to speak Czech? toggle

No. All programs at UNYP are taught entirely in English. While learning Czech can enrich your experience, it is not required for admission or coursework.

Do U.S. students need a visa? toggle

Yes. U.S. citizens studying in the Czech Republic for longer than 90 days need a long-term student visa. UNYP's admissions team provides guidance throughout the visa application process.

Can students work while studying? toggle

Yes. International students in the Czech Republic are permitted to work while studying. Many UNYP students take on part-time jobs or internships alongside their coursework.

Does UNYP guarantee housing? toggle

UNYP does not have its own dormitories, but our student services team helps students find suitable accommodation in Prague, including shared apartments and private student residences.

Can U.S. veterans use the GI Bill or VA benefits? toggle
