UNYP Hosts the Platform Work in Europe 2026 Conference

The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) hosted the Platform Work in Europe 2026 conference, bringing together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners to discuss the rapidly evolving landscape of platform work and labor regulation across Europe.

The conference provided a forum for presenting current research and exchanging perspectives on the legal, economic, and social implications of platform-based employment. Participants represented universities, research institutions, and professional organizations from across Europe.

Irena Ferciková Konečná, Member of the Czech Parliament, officially opened the conference. In her welcoming remarks, she highlighted the importance of informed dialogue on the future of work and employment policy.

Johannes Anttila, Policy Advisor at the European Parliament, delivered the keynote address. He shared insights into current European policy developments and the ongoing legislative discussion surrounding platform work.

Throughout the program, presenters explored topics including labor law, workers’ rights, digital platforms, algorithmic management, and social protection. They also examined the broader transformation of employment in the digital economy. In addition to the academic presentations, the conference encouraged interdisciplinary discussion and fostered collaboration between researchers and policy experts working in this important field.

UNYP thanks all speakers, presenters, and participants for contributing to a successful and engaging conference.
