Michael Pitts specializes in American literature at the intersection of science fiction, utopian studies, and gender. His first monograph, Alternative Masculinities in Feminist Speculative Fiction: A New Man, was published by Lexington Books in 2021. He is currently co-editing a new book, Manhood in 21st-century Science Fiction Television, which is set to be published by Bloomsbury in early 2025. .
