In Memory of Professor Helena Fialová

We are saddened to share that Professor Helena Fialová passed away on April 24. Her loss is felt across the entire UNYP community.

Professor Fialová was one of UNYP’s most cherished faculty members. Over the years, she became a true student favorite, admired for her warmth, approachability, and ability to make complex topics understandable and engaging. Her classroom was a place where students felt heard, respected, and supported. Many continued to seek her guidance and friendship after graduation.

Reflecting on her impact, UNYP Rector Andreas Antonopoulos shared:
“Helena was more than a dedicated professor—she was the heart of the classroom. Her passion for teaching and the care she showed for her students left a mark on this university. We will miss her.”

In addition to her work at UNYP, Professor Fialová also held academic roles at other respected institutions in Prague. Her scholarly contributions to the field of economics, including publications like Ekonomický výkladový slovník and Ekonomické chování I, have served as important resources for students and professionals alike.

Her legacy is one of dedication, intellect, and humanity. She brought not only knowledge but compassion into her teaching, and her absence will be felt by colleagues and students alike.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. Helena will be remembered with lasting affection, gratitude, and respect.
