The University of New York in Prague (UNYP) is pleased to announce that a scientific research article based on a UNYP Bachelor’s thesis has been published and widely recognized by the academic community.
The article, titled “Incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Recruitment Processes: Ethical Considerations,” is based on the Bachelor’s thesis of Zuzana Sýkorová and is now available as open access on the Emerald Publisher website in the Vilakshan – XIMB Journal of Management. You can read the full article here.
Co-authored by Zuzana Sýkorová, Dana Hague, Ondřej Dvouletý, and David Anthony Procházka, the study examines the ethical challenges of using AI in recruitment processes. It offers practical insights for recruiters navigating AI-driven hiring, particularly in relation to decision-making, privacy, data protection, and GDPR compliance.
The research was conducted in the Czech Republic in Autumn 2023 and is based on interviews with four experienced recruiters. Findings suggest that while AI tools—such as chatbots—can support early-stage candidate screening, human judgment remains essential in final hiring decisions.
Since its publication in 2024, the article has been downloaded more than 13,425 times, demonstrating strong interest from both academic and professional audiences. This milestone highlights UNYP’s commitment to applied research, student engagement, and collaboration between students, faculty, and the research community.
