Rebecca Murray

Rebecca Murray joined the UNYP community in 2026. She received her BA and MA from University College Cork, Ireland. Subsequently, she earned her PhD from Charles University in Prague, under the supervision of Prof. PhDr. Martin Procházka, CSc. She has presented at various conferences, including the Hermes Consortium and the British Association for Romantic Studies (BARS). She was a guest lecturer at the Silesian University in Opava, and a visiting PhD researcher at Queen Mary University of London. Her research focuses on the work of philosopher and novelist William Godwin, as well as his friends and contemporaries, with a particular interest in the aesthetic and rhetorical connections between Romanticism and Empiricism, especially in relation to debates about language and politics. Her other interests include Britain in the 1790s, eighteenth-century literature and philosophy, classical liberalism, and the philosophy of language. She is currently preparing her first monograph for publication.
