Enrico Salvatore Patrono

I am a Researcher in Neuroscience with 18 years of experience in neurophysiology and neurobiology of psychiatric disorders. I studied Neuroscience at the Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. Later, I acquired extensive experience in multicultural teams, having spent much of my career abroad (Brazil, Spain, Japan, and the Czech Republic). I specialized in animal models of psychopathological conditions (eating disorders, drug addiction, and schizophrenia), largely using methodologies such as "in vivo" optogenetics and chemogenetics, "in vitro" opto-electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, and techniques of molecular genetics (genetic models of Alzheimer's Disease). In addition, I have 15 years of experience teaching Neuropsychology, Neurobiology, and Neurophysiology in several countries (Italy, Brazil, Spain, Japan, and the Czech Republic).
