Flora: A New Sculpture Bringing Nature and Creativity Together at UNYP

At the University of New York in Prague (UNYP), creativity continues to find new ways to become part of everyday campus life. Following her recent BIOMORPH sculpture exhibition at the UNYP Library, Ukrainian artist and UNYP lecturer Anna Naduda, also known as Ani Svami, has created a unique new artwork exclusively for the university: Flora.

Ani Svami is an internationally exhibited artist whose work explores the relationship between nature, organic forms, and human perception. Her previous exhibition at UNYP invited students, faculty, and visitors to experience art beyond traditional gallery spaces, bringing creativity directly into the university environment.

Her latest creation, Flora (2026), is a one-of-a-kind sculptural relief made from concrete, designed specifically to complement UNYP’s distinctive architectural character. Inspired by the natural world, its intricate leaves, textures, and organic forms celebrate nature as the foundation of human knowledge, science, and artistic expression.

The sculpture reflects a simple yet powerful idea: every discovery, innovation, and creative achievement begins with inspiration from the world around us.

More than an artistic addition to the campus, Flora represents UNYP’s commitment to creating an environment where education, creativity, and inspiration come together. It also reflects the university’s  “Explore You” philosophy, encouraging students to remain curious, discover new perspectives, and find inspiration beyond the classroom.

UNYP extends its sincere gratitude to Ani Svami for creating this exceptional piece and for continuing to enrich our university community through her artistic vision. We are proud to have Flora as part of our campus and look forward to the inspiration it will bring to students, faculty, and visitors for years to come.
