Whether it’s through service to the community, leadership in their profession, or support for the University of New York in Prague, we believe that our alumni are making a real difference—locally and globally.

Who Can Be Nominated for the UNYP Alumni of the Year Award?

To be eligible, a nominee must meet both of the following criteria:

1. Be a graduate of the University of New York in Prague or a partner university program taught at UNYP
2. Have no outstanding tuition fees or debts to the university

Whether they’ve launched an inspiring project, contributed to their community, or supported the university’s mission, every nomination counts.

How to Nominate UNYP Alumni for an Award

Anyone can submit a nomination—friends, faculty, students, colleagues, or even the alumni themselves.

Here’s what you need to know:

• No limit on how many nominations one person can submit
• Self-nominations are accepted
• Nominations must be submitted via the official online form (see top of page)
• Submissions are accepted only within the official nomination window each year

A nomination becomes valid when:

• The nominee accepts the nomination in writing
• Provides a CV or resume
• (Optional) Includes a brief motivation letter describing their impact

All personal data is confidential and used solely for internal evaluation by the UNYP Alumni Award Committee.

What Makes a Great Nominee?

We look for alumni with proven excellence in at least one of these areas:

• Service to the community
• Leadership or innovation in their profession
• Meaningful contributions to the UNYP community

How the Winner Is Selected

The UNYP Alumni Award Committee evaluates all nominations and selects a shortlist of three finalists. The final recipient is chosen from this group and announced to the UNYP community.

The committee includes:

• UNYP General Manager
• UNYP Rector
• Marketing Director
• Alumni Office Coordinator
• Two representatives from the UNYP Alumni Association
• One Student Council representative
• One Faculty representative
• One Dean

The committee has full discretion over the process, including handling any cases not covered by standard rules.

Award Presentation

The Alumni of the Year Award is presented at a UNYP event selected by the committee. The recipient may accept the award in person or designate someone to represent them. The form of the award is determined by the committee.

Additional Rules and Guidelines

• A nominee cannot win more than once
• Past nominees can be re-nominated in subsequent years
• Exceptions may be made at the committee’s discretion by majority vote
