J.R. Smith is a Partner at Evolution Equity Partners. He leads investments in cybersecurity, enterprise and consumer software. Prior to Evolution J.R. was Chief Executive Officer of AVG Technologies (NYSE:AVG) where he was responsible for strategy and operations and leading the company to an IPO in 2012 on the New York Stock Exchange. J.R. is considered to be a thought leader in the areas of security, privacy and data protection and has authored several books in these areas.
