Cooperation with Sparta continues with new UNYP CUP tournament

University of New York in Prague and Sparta Praha Floorball Club have prolonged their partnership for the upcoming two seasons. UNYP will remain the Official Partner of the U17, U19 and Male Elite teams and this year and will take the partnership to the next level by taking over the well-known Czech youth tournament previously known as G2 CUP. The tournament has been officially renamed UNYP CUP and has traditionally hosted more than 750 players in the ages 15-18 years old.  ‘‘The partnership between UNYP & Sparta Floorball is strong and it seemed to be a natural fit to extend our sponsorship to the junior’s tournament. This is a critical age where young men and women are making a lot of life changing decisions and we felt that a University is a good role model and a partner they can be proud of,‘’ says Sotiris Foutsis, the General Manager of UNYP.

University supports young sportsmen

The UNYP CUP will give the young players a great chance to improve their floorball skills and compete against other teams of juniors. ‘’With any sponsorship there is exposure,‘’ explains Mr. Foutsis. ‘’Nevertheless, this is also an opportunity to give back to the community, and help the Sparta Floorball Club to continue to grow through its juniors programs and hopefully find and shape the best talent which will go on to play on the Elite team.‘’

UNYP’s partnership with Sparta means more than just branding and logos on T-shirts. People from the university regularly visit the Elite team’s matches and new UNYP Blazers Floorball team was established at the university, coached by one of Sparta’s own. UNYP is looking forward to the new youth tournament that will take place in August and September. ‘’We will be there to support our Spartans and wear the blue, yellow and red! Joking aside, we wish all participants the best of luck and success in the tournament,‘’ added Mr. Foutsis.
