UNYP President’s Message to the Class of 2020

Congratulations, graduates of the University of New York in Prague, class of 2020!

Your talent, leadership, and commitment are needed now more than ever, as our global society navigates a new reality. There have been challenging events in modern history that some people thought we could not recover from, but we did. This pandemic is no different. It could become an opportunity for world leaders and societies to start new processes and change global directions, to help the world find a new and better path. Approach this time with enthusiasm and resilience. You are the pioneers of a new age. Remember, "The only constant in life is change."

Getting through this crisis and building a better future for humanity rests on our ability to show willpower, and to work together to make positive changes. Your communities need you to engage and persevere on issues that you are passionate about. Although it may be challenging right now, you have already shown great capacity to do so, by successfully finishing your degrees.

I would also like to thank the families and friends of our graduates for their patience, understanding, and support during these uneasy but rewarding university years. Although your help and encouragement will certainly continue to be sought and appreciated in the years to come, you can rejoice in this momentous occasion for your student, which would not be possible without you. Take your time to relish the shared feeling of pride in what your graduates have accomplished, and to anticipate their future successes.

Dear graduates, in the coming years, I would like to ask that you do not forget your alma mater, your former professors, and your fellow and future UNYPers. We are eager to learn about your future professional and personal achievements. We take great pride in your accomplishments, and will always welcome you at UNYP.

Congratulations again to the graduates of all our programs! The entire UNYP community is very proud of you.
