UNYP’s response to COVID-19 and available resources

The University of New York in Prague remains fully operational with appropriate measures to protect the health of our students, faculty, and staff. The university management is in contact with the Czech government and health care leaders, and continues to take all available data and information into consideration. We are updating the UNYP community regularly and will keep you informed of any additional actions.

UNYP goes above and beyond to care for its community.

On Monday, March 16, the university announced it is holding all classes using an online format for the remainder of the 2019/20 Spring Semester. The University buildings are closed until the end of the Czech State of Emergency to help reduce the possible spread of COVID-19, and to protect our staff and faculty. UNYP has made these decisions out of an abundance of caution. Switching to online learning allows our students to continue working toward their degrees and preparing for their future careers.

  • The university continues to be in constant communication with our students by phone, email, virtual chat, and other forms of remote communication.  
  • Following the physical closure of UNYP, all our administrative and academic offices continue to operate at full capacity and are accessible by remote means (from home office until the end of the Czech State of Emergency). 
  • All admissions are continuing normally, including Open Day, on April 23 (Open houses will be done online until the end of the Czech State of Emergency).
  • Student support facilities such as Writing Resource LabEnglish Composition Tutoring, Statistics Tutoring, and Math Tutoring are offering appointments online. 
  • The Counseling Center also has online appointments available. 
  • IT Support is available as usual. 
  • All documentation from our International Office and Registrar’s office is available for students.

Our aim is to go the extra mile for our students, and to facilitate their learning no matter where they are in the world. Services such as our counseling center, tutoring labs and round-the-clock IT support are a core part of what makes UNYP so great.  Our career office continues to organize online events, our tutors are available for online appointments, and our communications and alumni teams are continuing to work with our alumni and get them involved. At UNYP, we are doing everything possible not to disrupt the service we offer to our students.
