150 universities from around the world to meet in Prague

The 26th CEEMAN Annual Conference “Redefining Management Education: Excellence and Relevance” will be taking place from 19-21 September 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic. The conference will be co-organized with the University of New York in Prague (UNYP), the largest and leading English language higher education institution in the Czech Republic.

In addition to the co-organization from UNYP, this year’s conference will be held under the official auspices of the European Parliament from deputy Mgr. Tomáš Zdechovský, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, Czech Chamber of CommerceResearch, Development and Innovation Council, as well as the Mayor of Prague 1, Oldřich Lomecký.

“We are really excited to hold our 26th Annual Conference and celebrate the 25th Anniversary of CEEMAN in the very center of Europe. Prague is a dynamic city, filled with historic beauty and a growing economy including its strong growth in education and educational initiatives. It is also an honor to work with one of our long term members, the University of New York in Prague. The partnership is a natural fit as they are a truly respected higher education institution in Czech Republic and a great host,” Danica Purg, CEEMAN President.

The Conference is the most important annual event of CEEMAN – the International Association for Management Development in Dynamic Societies, attended every year by some 150 deans, rectors, presidents, leading faculty and staff members of business schools and universities from about 35 countries around the world.

“UNYP is honored to be considered as such a key partner for CEEMAN, an organization with quarter of a century long history in management development and quality assurance. The partnership is a clear recognition to our commitment to excellence in academia and providing quality, top level higher education in English to thousands of students from around the world,” added Sotiris Foutsis, UNYP’s General Manager.

There will be three keynote speakers for this year’s event, Roger Martin, named the world’s #1 management thinker by Thinkers50 in 2017, Johan Roos, Chief Academic Officer & Professor of General Management and Strategy at Hult International Business School, UK and US, and Jan Fischer, Former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic. Mr. Martin will share his views on redefining management education in a provocative talk “Management Education and the Dark Side of Efficiency,” and Mr. Roos will explore the topic of “Making Relevance More Relevant.” The detailed program and list of additional speakers for the three-day conference events can be found on the CEEMAN event pages.
