UNYP hosted Career Days 2021

UNYP Career Days 2021 took place from Monday April 19 to Thursday April 22, and was organized as an online event due to the ongoing pandemic situation.

The primary purpose of UNYP Career Days is to provide UNYP students and recent graduates with a deeper insight into the recruiting process, tips for how to prepare and impress a future employer, and the dos and don’ts of searching and applying for a first job or internship. In addition, we invite potential employers to present themselves to UNYP students.

The first part (Monday – Wednesday) was comprised of practical and interactive workshops and webinars on various topics relating to the main theme. It was a great pleasure to welcome two successful UNYP alumni, Ladislav Čapek and Dimana Mabhena. 

We would like to thank our guest speakers Kryštof Kopecký (Linked Akademie), Andrea Colantoni (Adecco), Peter Greif (ADP), Petra Drahoňovská (Career Designer), Ladislav Čapek (Intellmaps), Jakub Hořický (Absolventi.cz), Dimana Mabhena (Future Females) and Radka Sotáková (myTimi) for all the effort and energy that they put into their presentations. They presented the most up-to-date information from the professional and recruitment world, focusing on the following topics:

· How to build up a personal brand with LinkedIn

· How to cruise through the perfect storm of a changing job market

· How to succeed in an interviewing process

· How to write a CV that will get you to an interview

· Results of the TOP Employers survey

· How to pick your future employer in Corporate or Startup

· How Ladislav Čapek went from “garage” to Silicon Valley with Geosense 

· Employment and Business for Foreigners in the Czech Republic

The final day (April 22) was dedicated to the Virtual Job Fair, where we always encourage students to make early contact with potential employers. Each company had a half-hour time slot available for informal discussion and consultancy about their job/internship offers and hiring process, as well as any other questions raised by the students.
