Not enough snow in Prague? Let’s take a look at some Czech mountains!

Unfortunately, Prague sees very little snow during the winter months, so Czechs go to the mountains to enjoy their favorite sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating. Therefore, we would like to introduce you to the mountains in the Czech Republic that you can visit.

Exploring the Czech mountains is a perfect outdoor activity for the weekend. The Czech Republic is a comparatively small country, so you can escape to the mountains in approximately two or three hours.

The mountains located in the Czech Republic are not particularly high (Sněžka is the highest, at 1603m), so they are enjoyable for novice skiers and snowboarders as well as those with more experience. The Giant Mountains (Krkonoše in Czech) are located in the north of the Czech Republic and the southwest of Poland, and boast numerous ski resorts such as Pec pod Sněžkou, Harrachov, Černá Hora, Rokytnice and Malá Úpa – not to mention Špindlerův Mlýn, one of the most well-known resorts in the Czech Republic. There are many hotels in this area and most of them offer wellness and spa, so there is plenty to enjoy over a weekend. On the other side of the Czech Republic, one of the most well-known ski resorts is Klínovec (1244m high).

Now is the time to try some winter sports, if you have not done so already. At UNYP, we love and support all kinds of sports, no matter the season. We are proud to have the Czech Olympic team as a part of our university family, and we support Czech athletes at the Olympic Games. If you share our passion for sports and would like to be a part of UNYP, check out our Business administration academic program with a Concentration in Sports Management.
