Congratulations to our graduating class of 2015!

I am honored to announce that the 14th Annual UNYP Graduation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 27, at Palác Žofín.  This year, nearly two hundred graduates, from various countries around the world, will be taking part in our commencement ceremony.

I’d like to take this moment to reiterate UNYP’s Mission Statement.  We believe that education is the foundation of success and are dedicated “to equipping our students with the necessary knowledge and way of thinking to become scholars, thinkers, and leaders in their chosen profession and to provide them with the skills, ethics, multi-cultural perspective, and confidence that will allow them to explore, learn, question, create, and thrive as productive members of the international community.”

“We are committed to providing the highest possible quality education and giving our students the personal attention and support necessary for them to achieve their goals in life.”

Because of our devotion to this goal, for 17 years, the University of New York in Prague has been a leading English-language higher education institution in Central Europe.  Our graduates have gone on to accept top positions in Fortune 500 companies, become entrepreneurs, and are otherwise celebrated for their successes.

Just as each previous year, we are exceedingly proud of our new class of graduates.  Therefore, I would like to express the value of individual achievement to every one of our graduates.  No matter whether you decide to continue your education, or enter the workforce, you should take this opportunity to realize how far each and every one of you have come.

Congratulations to you for your hard work and accomplishment. Not only have you gained years’ worth of applied knowledge, but you’ve stepped out of your comfort zones, showed bravery in accepting new experiences, learned just as much from yourselves as you’ve learned from others, and vice versa, given your peers new insight to apply to their lives.  You’ve also shown patience in the face of adversity, gained the ability to trust in your decisions, and, perhaps most importantly, broadened your perspectives to understand, accept, and think in terms of diversity and respect. Now, with this new accumulated knowledge, go and start the first day of the rest of your lives!
