An average of 8% of university graduates end up at labour offices. However, figures may differ for individual universities. Graduates from the University of New York in Prague are such an exception – they rank among the most successful ones in the long-run, with a mere 1% of them registering with the labour office.
The figure is the result of an enormous endeavour and everyday effort for top-quality focusing on practical skills, language competences, soft skills and interactivity of all courses.
The UNYP Career Office plays a key role in the students’ success. It arranges for regular meetings between students and potential employers, brokers job offers and helps students present themselves on the labour market.
“We regularly work with companies, bringing top names to the campus to help our students and the companies meet, network and build relationships. Our students have the opportunity in many cases to work as interns at companies that cooperate with UNYP, with many of them offered a full-time position after graduation. Connecting students with business during the study is key for ensuring they develop the right skills, contacts and opportunities to strengthen their chances on today’s highly competitive labour market,” explains Petra Šenková, UNYP Career Office Manager.
