UNYP students visit the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic

On Friday, November 1st, a group of the University of New York in Prague students visited the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. This field trip was organized by the Dean of School of International Relationsprofessor Oscar Hidalgo.

„As an educator, I find field trips an essential part of the university experience. Studying International Relations in Prague provides UNYP students with a fantastic opportunity to visit the sites that played a crucial role in European political history. Our last week’s visit to the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic was a perfect combination of sightseeing and hands-on learning. The Wallenstein family played a critical role in the history of Europe, especially Albrecht of Wallenstein, the person who ordered the construction of the palace whose participation in the Thirty Years War was fundamental in the conflict. It is very special for someone who studies international relations to visit a place so much linked to one of the historical figures who took part in the conflict, which concluded with the Peace of Westphalia. And initiated a new era for international politics that lasted almost three centuries.“ said Professor Oscar Hidalgo (Dean of School of International Relations at UNYP).
